Earth Day 2020

April 25, 2020 - Summit Park Blue Ash
Canceled

The 2020 Greater Cincinnati Earth Day Celebration will be held at Summit Park, 4335 Glendale-Milford Road, Blue Ash, Ohio 45242, on April 25, 2020 from Noon until 5 pm

The theme for 2020 will be “What You Can Do!” Over 125 exhibitors, local music, local vegetarian foods, and Madtree Brewing Company’s craft beer will make the festival one of the best environmental education events in the region. Typically, attendance is over 8000. Activities and presentations about environmental education will be featured at the event. Families from all over the region are encouraged to get out and enjoy Earth Day, traditionally the first fun family outdoor event of the year!

Greater Cincinnati Earth Day Celebration 2020 is supported by Blue Ash Summit Park and Edible Ohio Valley Magazine.

This year we have coordinated with Keep Cincinnati Beautiful and Cincinnati’s Office of Environment and Sustainability to bookend Earth Day with our two events. Earth Day at Washington Park will be on April 18, 2020.

2020 Greater Cincinnati Earth Day Canceled at Summit Park, Blue Ash

March 19, 2020 - Hello Earth Day Community

I want to update you on the status of Earth Day 2020 in light of COVID-19. First, though, a round of thanks to our first responders, medical professionals, educators and public peacekeepers who are continuously working to keep us safe.

We understand the value of Earth Day and the morale boost it would have, but we also understand that this is a very difficult time for many businesses, families and nonprofits. We will cancel the 2020 event and look forward to April 24, 2021.

To those who registered and paid for booth space, we are offering refunds by check. Please reply with payee and where to mail. There are several ways to help the next Earth Day. For instance, allow us to refund less PayPal processing fees, or allow us to hold your registration fees until next year. Or, consider making your payment a donation to the Greater Cincinnati Earth Coalition {501(c)(3)} and its environmental education mission.

Due to the appropriate group restrictions being implemented across our nation and indeed around the world to combat the COVID-19 pandemic, your Greater Cincinnati Earth Coalition Board is recommending that all upcoming GCEC in-person events be made virtual until such time as these restrictions are lifted.

Over the coming weeks, GCEC will be sharing some ways we are sustaining hope through this crisis and inviting all of you to join us on social media—everything from transitioning our flagship event, Earth Day, into a digital event available to more people than ever, we’re going to be thinking of all the ways we can support one another. Meanwhile, we are inviting you to share your stories and ideas with us. What is keeping you going right now? What kind of support could a community like ours provide? Online courses? Interviews with technical experts?

Hope doesn’t replace good hand washing, but it does help us get out of bed every morning, care for others, and stay committed to the communities and causes we love. We’ll be sharing our ideas too, on our social media channels and in emails to come. Come join us online. And keep watching your inbox for our next update. If you have any questions at all, feel free to reach out. We will be keeping everyone posted as more develops.

With gratitude and care
